Anglo-francusko-izraelska agresija, Sueska kriza ili Drugi arapsko-izraelski rat, u arapskom svijetu zvan i Trojna agresija, a u Izraelu Operacija Kadeš i Sinajski rat, nastala je nakon što je Egipat, s Gamal Abdel Nasserom na čelu, 26. srpnja 1956. godine nacionalizirao Sueski kanal. Do tada su gotovo polovinu vlasništva nad kanalom imale britanske banke i poduzeća. Porastom gospodarskog značenja nafte rasla je i zavisnost europskih snaga od korištenja kanala.

Padobranski desant

Izraelska vojska ušla je 29. listopada 1956. godine na područje egipatskog poluotoka Sinaja, a 5. studenog britanski i francuski padobranci sletjeli su uzduž Sueskog kanala. Egipatske snage bile su poražene, ali ipak su uspjele blokirati kanal koji je od listopada 1956. do ožujka 1957. bio zatvoren. Snažan politički pritisak Sjedinjenih Američkih Država, Sovjetskog Saveza i Ujedinjenih naroda naveo je okupacijske snage na povlačenje. Ujedinjeni narodi oformili su UNEF, mirovne snage koje su osiguravale zonu razdvajanja egipatske i izraelske vojske. Bila je to prva operacija naoružanih mirovnih snaga UN-a u kojoj su sudjelovali vojnici iz deset zemalja.

Nakon usvajanja Rezolucije Ujedinjenih naroda o prekidu vatre i povlačenju agresorskih snaga s egipatskog teritorija, Jugoslavija je stavila na raspolaganje Ujedinjenim narodima svoj kontingent trupa. Zapovjedna snaga Ujedinjenih naroda povjerila je jugoslavenskoj jedinici zadatak preuzimanja kontrole nad najvažnijim komunikacijama Sinajskog poluotoka i nad povlačenjem izraelskih snaga.

Zastava je odlično očuvana

Misija je trajala od 1956. do 1967. godine, a kroz ukupno 22 izmjene u ovoj misiji očuvanja mira na Bliskom istoku angažirano je 14.265 jugoslavenskih vojnika i časnika. Svaki peti pripadnik UNEF-a bio je jugoslavenski vojnik. Prvi kontingent za Egipat isplovio je iz Šibenika 23. studenog 1956. parobrodima Dinara, Partizanka i Čelik. Svi parobrodi istaknuli su zastave pomoćnih brodova ratne mornarice, a na prednjem jarbolu i zastavu Ujedinjenih naroda.

Ulje na lesonitu

Jedna od tih zastava u fundusu je Hrvatskog pomorskog muzeja Split. Zastava je dimenzija 155 x 93 cm i sastoji se od službenog amblema Ujedinjenih naroda u bijeloj boji na svjetloplavoj pozadini. Amblem se sastoji od azimutne ekvidistantne projekcije karte svijeta, bez Antarktike, centrirane na Sjevernom polu, okružene dvjema maslinovim grančicama. Grančice simboliziraju mir, a karta svijeta predstavlja sve ljude. Bijela i plava boja službene su boje Ujedinjenih naroda. Ovakva zastava Ujedinjenih naroda usvojena je 20. listopada 1947. godine. Ranija verzija upotrijebljena je prvi put na Konvenciji 1945. godine, a razlikuje se po prikazu karte u amblemu koji je zakrenut za četvrtinu kruga.

Anglo-francusko-izraelska agresija, Sueska kriza ili Drugi arapsko-izraelski rat, u arapskom svijetu zvan i Trojna agresija, a u Izraelu Operacija Kadeš i Sinajski rat, nastala je nakon što je Egipat, s Gamal Abdel Nasserom na čelu, 26. srpnja 1956. godine nacionalizirao Sueski kanal. Do tada su gotovo polovinu vlasništva nad kanalom imale britanske banke i poduzeća. Porastom gospodarskog značenja nafte rasla je i zavisnost europskih snaga od korištenja kanala.

Padobranski desant

Izraelska vojska ušla je 29. listopada 1956. godine na područje egipatskog poluotoka Sinaja, a 5. studenog britanski i francuski padobranci sletjeli su uzduž Sueskog kanala. Egipatske snage bile su poražene, ali ipak su uspjele blokirati kanal koji je od listopada 1956. do ožujka 1957. bio zatvoren. Snažan politički pritisak Sjedinjenih Američkih Država, Sovjetskog Saveza i Ujedinjenih naroda naveo je okupacijske snage na povlačenje. Ujedinjeni narodi oformili su UNEF, mirovne snage koje su osiguravale zonu razdvajanja egipatske i izraelske vojske. Bila je to prva operacija naoružanih mirovnih snaga UN-a u kojoj su sudjelovali vojnici iz deset zemalja.

Nakon usvajanja Rezolucije Ujedinjenih naroda o prekidu vatre i povlačenju agresorskih snaga s egipatskog teritorija, Jugoslavija je stavila na raspolaganje Ujedinjenim narodima svoj kontingent trupa. Zapovjedna snaga Ujedinjenih naroda povjerila je jugoslavenskoj jedinici zadatak preuzimanja kontrole nad najvažnijim komunikacijama Sinajskog poluotoka i nad povlačenjem izraelskih snaga.

Misija je trajala od 1956. do 1967. godine, a kroz ukupno 22 izmjene u ovoj misiji očuvanja mira na Bliskom istoku angažirano je 14.265 jugoslavenskih vojnika i časnika. Svaki peti pripadnik UNEF-a bio je jugoslavenski vojnik. Prvi kontingent za Egipat isplovio je iz Šibenika 23. studenog 1956. parobrodima Dinara, Partizanka i Čelik. Svi parobrodi istaknuli su zastave pomoćnih brodova ratne mornarice, a na prednjem jarbolu i zastavu Ujedinjenih naroda.

Ulje na lesonitu

Jedna od tih zastava u fundusu je Hrvatskog pomorskog muzeja Split. Zastava je dimenzija 155 x 93 cm i sastoji se od službenog amblema Ujedinjenih naroda u bijeloj boji na svjetloplavoj pozadini. Amblem se sastoji od azimutne ekvidistantne projekcije karte svijeta, bez Antarktike, centrirane na Sjevernom polu, okružene dvjema maslinovim grančicama. Grančice simboliziraju mir, a karta svijeta predstavlja sve ljude. Bijela i plava boja službene su boje Ujedinjenih naroda. Ovakva zastava Ujedinjenih naroda usvojena je 20. listopada 1947. godine. Ranija verzija upotrijebljena je prvi put na Konvenciji 1945. godine, a razlikuje se po prikazu karte u amblemu koji je zakrenut za četvrtinu kruga.
